Ralph Lauren presented his Fall/Winter 2022 collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City with a crowd of A-listers on and off the runway.
My Fall/Winter 2022 collection is a celebration of the timeless black and white style,” said Ralph Lauren at the presentation of his latest runway collection staged at a contemporary New York residence: the Museum of Modern Art.
The collection delighted in playing with black and white, which have long been basic and fundamental colors of the fashion world. Ralph Lauren’s Fall/Winter 2022 season celebrated the refined, luxury, and contemporary style that has always distinguished the brand. Every element of Lauren’s DNA ended up in the fashion show: the ease of going from day to night, classic pinstripe suits inspired by menswear, and “elegant lines of tailored silhouettes for men and women,” commented the designer.
The entire show, from the front row to the models, embraced the star power of New York City. On the runway, young talents like Gigi and Bella Hadid, James Turlington, Lucky Blue Smith, Vittoria Ceretti, Taylor Hill, and more showcased Lauren’s latest designs alongside veteran faces like Tyson Beckford, Shalom Harlow, and Laetitia Casta. Off the catwalk, some of today’s biggest stars attended the event, including, Gossip Girl‘s Evan Mock, Lily Collins, Zoey Deutch, Henry Golding, Luka Sabbat, Antoni Porowski, Jessica Chastain, Euphoria actor Angus Cloud, Rachel Brosnahan, Poppy Delevingne, Janelle Monáe, Amelie Zilber, and Blake Gray, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
The Fall/Winter 2022 women’s collection celebrated the evening, enriching itself with cocktail dresses, evening dresses, and hyper-glamorized pieces emphasized by beads, sequins, and lace details. The accessories underlined the essence of the season: the most iconic bags, such as the Wellington model, were reinterpreted in different variations, including the Doctor Bag in alligator leather and gold details.
The Deco Frame Bag was proposed as a new model in both velvet and calfskin with embroidered details. The RL50 bags accompanied all outfits, in addition to the Ricky, proposed as a clutch in a beautiful velvet with leather details and a gold monogram. The shoes were an extension of the ready-to-wear collection, with two-tone styles in contrasting black and white feminine pumps and sandals in pinstripe fabric and velvet. The collection was completed with a classic heeled equestrian boot and a Chelsea boot with a touch of red. The Art Deco jewels took inspiration from the patterns of Nordic sweaters with snow crystal motifs.
