Qualcomm’s competitor MediaTek reaches record revenue for Huawei orders

MediaTek, one of the leading chip manufacturers in the technology industry, generated record revenue in the first 6 months of 2020 due to orders from Huawei.

Due to the large number of orders placed by Huawei, MediaTek’s revenue increased by 21 percent in June and the company grew by 12.4 percent in the first six months of 2020.

Record earnings despite coronavirus

According to the financial reports published by MediaTek, 6-month consolidated income was announced as $ 8.59 billion. This is more than 16 percent of the record reached four years ago. Given the sharp drop in the smartphone market due to the coronavirus pandemic, especially in the first half of 2020, this growth shown by MediaTek is extremely important.

It is stated that the share of Dimensity 800 and 1000 chipsets in the increasing revenues of MediaTek is high, while the company’s customers include leading brands of the smartphone market such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo. Huawei, which stands out among these companies, increased its orders for MediaTek processors by 300 percent in the past months.
